Cognito, an international financial services communications and marketing agency, today announced the appointment of new leadership for its Corporate Communications practice in the US.
Sean McCarthy has joined Cognito as Executive Vice President with responsibility to build the agency’s corporate communications consulting business in the US. Reporting to Cognito’s US President Rowan Benecke, McCarthy will also serve on the agency’s US Management Team.

Sean was previously Chief Communications Officer and External Affairs Director at the United Arab Emirates’ largest publicly listed company, TAQA Group, where he oversaw the company’s global communications team across 11 countries. Prior to TAQA, Sean held senior US corporate communications roles at Burson-Marsteller, Weber Shandwick, Edelman and MSL. With more than 15 years of experience, he is an expert in corporate reputation management, helping public, private and government-owned organizations build trust.
