Communication Strategy Group Named by Forrester as Top IT Channel Public Relations and Marketing Firms

Brand Storytelling Agency Recognized for Technology Channel Expertise

Communication Strategy Group, a brand storytelling agency based on Long Island, New York, today announced it has been named to an exclusive list of the world’s best public relations (PR) and marketing agencies in the technology channel by Forrester Research, Inc., one of the most influential research and advisory firms in the IT industry. The article “Do Channel Vendors Need Public Relations Anymore?” authored by Jay McBain, Principal Analyst for Channels, Partnerships and Alliances at Forrester, concluded that among 25,000 “pure-play PR firms” and tens of thousands of additional marketing agencies and consultancies, only a short list of PR agencies possess the appropriate combination of “channel media-specific focus and expertise” to benefit channel industry players. Communication Strategy Group was named among the elite group of only 85 firms that earned that distinction and one of only 44 located in the U.S.

“The communications industry is facing a perfect storm of converging forces, from COVID-19 to the rise of influencer marketing and even AI. At Forrester, we research around 10,000 global technology vendors that utilize indirect sales and often get asked about the value of PR in the channel,” says McBain. “We hear from partners as well as media executives that short-form, or ‘snackable,’ content is growing, as social media has become the No. 1 source for eyeballs. This has replaced development of long-form, in-depth narratives. Either way, it is about storytelling directly to a partner audience comprised of very busy, small businesses.”

“This is something we have understood since we launched our agency,” explains Arthur Germain, Principal and Chief Brandteller for Communication Strategy Group. “We have deep roots in the IT channel; our entire team of strategists, content developers, and media outreach professionals got their start writing for channel publications and have delivered client public relations and content marketing successes spanning nearly a decade and a half. As the Forrester article notes, the ability to develop and share relevant stories separates agencies like ours from more general marketing firms. Since opening our doors nearly 15 years ago, we have considered ourselves a ‘brand storytelling agency,’ which makes this recognition meaningful to us and a welcome validation of the business proposition we have built our company around. We are proud to be recognized among such a prestigious group of luminary agencies and are excited to share this news with current and future clients.”
