Tenetic, an AI-powered real-time insights and intelligence platform for local and national advertising buyers and sellers, announced the appointment of David Verklin to its Board of Directors.
Verklin is a Senior Advisor with BCG and former CEO of Aegis Media Americas, where he was one of the pioneers in the creation of the free-standing media agency business in the United States and Latin America.
He is responsible for bringing the media agency Carat to North and South America, growing capitalized media billings to $7 billion annually, and for reinventing the agency model by integrating online and offline marketing services with the merger of Carat Fusion and CaratUSA. David served on the Aegis Group plc board for 10 years prior to its sale to the Japanese advertising giant Dentsu.
“As agencies evolve to harness the capabilities of AI for more efficient and effective advertising, David’s experience and leadership will be invaluable in guiding our growth,” says Tod Johnson, Co-Founder and Executive Chairman of Tenetic. “He is an innovator and pioneer who played a significant role in development of today’s agency models and we look forward to benefitting from his vision.”
Verklin joins Tenetic Board members John Dick, Founder and CEO of Civic Science; Bill Engel, former executive Chairman of Consumer Orbit; Bill Livek, Chairman of Symmetrical Capital; Kathi Love, CEO of Motherwell Resources; Darren Person, EVP and Chief Digital Officer of Cengage Group; John Rose, CEO of Spectrum Advisors; and Karyn Schoenbart, former CEO of The NPD Group.
“Tenetic is uniquely aligned to meet the emerging needs of agencies today for real-time insights and intelligence,” says Verklin. “As ad buyers and sellers look to drive better outcomes, the need for an always-on consumer view will only grow, making Tenetic an indispensable partner.”
