ventureLAB to participate at Elevate

ventureLAB

Leading technology hub for hardware technology, ventureLAB is excited to share its participation at this year’s premier technology and innovation festival, Elevate, from September 26 to 28 at Meridian Hall and the St. Lawrence Centre for Arts in downtown Toronto.

ventureLAB’s very own, Avinash Persaud, VP of the Hardware Catalyst Initiative, will serve as the moderator for the panel discussion titled, “Sustainable Semiconductor Solutions with AI”. Joining him on this dynamic panel are industry experts Jay Dawani, Co-Founder & CEO at Lemurian Labs and Raymond Chik, Co-founder & Consultant at Untether AI, who will explore the intersection of artificial intelligence and semiconductors. These expert panellists will shed light on the dual nature of AI that brings forth both opportunities and disruption in the technology and innovation sector, impacting local and global landscapes.

With the rise of generative AI like ChatGPT, Edge AI technology development and more, attendees can anticipate a vibrant discussion on the current state and future trends we expect to see in the region. Furthermore, the panellists will also take a deep dive into home-grown developments in AI and highlight the avenues for investment, more specifically ventureLAB’s latest initiative, the Hardware Angel Network.

“Artificial Intelligence can no longer be overlooked; it serves as the pivotal force for innovation across global industries, driving economic growth, with a particularly profound impact on the semiconductor and hardware sectors,” said Persaud. “This is an excellent opportunity to bring industry leaders from across Canada to not only share their expertise, but to connect with passionate and like-minded tech icons to foster collaboration and shape the future of the development, production and investment in the semiconductor industry.”

In addition to the panel discussion will be a roundtable dedicated to exploring the significance of “Fundraising for Hardware”. The session will feature key members of the Hardware Angel Network, powered by ventureLAB, as the only hardware and deep-tech-focused investor network supporting pre-seed and seed-stage startups in the country. Since its launch in June, the initiative has grown to include over 30 investor members dedicated to bridging the gaps within deep tech and hardware investment in Canada.
