StreetCred PR adds Industry Veteran to Senior Leadership Team

Financial services-focused agency expands West Coast presence, welcoming former Schwab communications executive Rob Farmer to its talented team

StreetCred Communications, LLC, (“StreetCred”), an agency solely focused on delivering the highest caliber of public relations (PR) work to the financial services industry, announced the appointment of senior vice president Rob Farmer. This move adds another accomplished, highly experienced professional to a team already loaded with top-tier talent.

Farmer brings more than 20 years of financial services communications experience to the role, having spent most of the last decade at Charles Schwab & Co., where he led PR for the institutional business serving independent advisors. He previously worked for more than 10 years at an agency, providing strategic communications counsel to a number of regional, national and worldwide financial brands, including banks, global insurance companies, wealth management and investment firms. Farmer began his career as a reporter and editor.

StreetCred has consistently grown from inception, with clients embracing its nimble, focused and accountability-driven approach to public relations. Now in its fourth year, the agency has established a reputation for delivering high-touch service tailored to the specific needs of each client. StreetCred’s approach, combined with its industry expertise, ensures consistent opportunities for clients to engage with the media via a combination of proven tactics and processes. These include strategic communications counsel, ongoing ideation and trendspotting, industry connections and networking, executive and spokesperson coaching, regular reporting and accountability, media coverage analysis and industry intelligence gathering.

“When I was working in-house at Schwab, I took note of StreetCred as soon as the firm launched,” said Farmer. “The news from many of the third-party firms we were working with at the time crossed my desk with the StreetCred stamp. It was clear this agency was making a strong impression upon the industry, and the momentum from the start has been impressive. I am proud and excited to be part of what this team is building, and I look forward to adding my experience as we enter the next phase of our growth.”

StreetCred deploys a team approach to client service, ensuring that every client has access to a specialized group of PR pros all cross-trained on each other’s roles. Regular reporting and delivery of consistent results is the cornerstone of every engagement. The management team — composed of Farmer, Jimmy MoockEmma SmithWill Ruben and Jason Lahita — leads from the front and is committed to building an agency by PR practitioners, for PR practitioners.

“From day one, we set out to do things differently here, having seen (and built) PR agencies from every conceivable angle over the course of our careers,” said Lahita, founding partner. “The entire PR team here has bought into our approach, and adding the best available talent wherever we can find it has been vital to our success. I have never in my career worked alongside a more fully engaged group – we take client service personally and our clients know we are invested in their success. Rob subscribed to this ethos from the outset, and adding a pro of his caliber on the West Coast further strengthens our coast-to-coast U.S. presence.”

“We’re excited to welcome Rob to the StreetCred team,” added Smith, partner. “Clients appreciate when they have access to seasoned professionals with a deep understanding of the financial sector, and Rob fits this bill perfectly. His deep industry knowledge and expertise — not to mention his passion for PR — equip us to better serve our clients and continue our strong momentum.”
