Act!, a leading customer relationship management (CRM) and marketing automation platform provider for small businesses, today announced the appointment of Jim Campbell as chief financial and operations officer. In his role, Campbell will be responsible for directing all operations, financial and corporate planning matters as well as business systems, project management office, legal and risk management functions.
Campbell is an accomplished operating executive who has spent the last 15+ years serving the private equity portfolio sector, leading expedited change for various B2B and SaaS companies. A resourceful executive with deep operating, commercial and financial managerial experience, Campbell has served in private equity portfolio company roles as interim CEO, President & COO, COO & CFO, as well as inside and outside board director.
Prior to his senior executive officer roles, Campbell spent much of his early career working in consulting at Deloitte providing M&A services to financial and strategic buyers. He went on to spend five years at a large activist investment firm as an operating partner in its private equity division leading operational, commercial and financial initiatives for portfolio companies. From there he took on senior executive leadership roles responsible for corporate performance and transforming business models toward meaningful value creation and successful exits. Since his last successful exit, Campbell has been running a private investment and management consulting office based in Dallas, Texas providing capital solutions, interim management and board advisory services to private equity portfolio companies.
Campbell earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from Texas A&M University-Commerce, has since completed graduate-level studies in marketing at SMU Cox School of Business, and is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program (AMP) at Harvard Business School. He is a licensed CPA in good standing since 1995, holds the Chartered Global Management Accountant designation from the AICPA and is accredited by the National Association of Corporate Directors as Directorship Certified™ in the United States.
