Sojern, the leading provider of digital advertising solutions and real-time audiences for the travel industry, today announced a new office space and expanded presence in Omaha designed to support its rapid growth and ambitious hiring plans.
The new Sojern workspace, designed by Alley Poyner Macchietto Architecture, will combine two previously separate offices into one and expand its physical footprint to 40,000 square feet in the West Dodge corridor of Omaha. In addition to the 4,000 square-foot break room and 53 conference rooms, there are 190 workstations to house the existing Omaha workforce with room to grow to 325 employees—nearly a 70 percent increase from the existing headcount. Keeping with the latest trends in workspace design, there will also be 3 mothers’ rooms, two ping pong tables, a shuffleboard table and a gym in the building.
“Omaha was the birthplace for our business 11 years ago, and we’re very proud of our roots. We continue to invest in recruiting talent from Omaha because we’ve had great success here,” said Brent Brummer, vice president of business strategy and operations, who has been at Sojern since its inception. “This city continues to produce seasoned, hard-working professionals with top-notch transferable skills as well as college grads ready to start their careers in tech. We offer on the job training and have a strong culture of promoting from within. It’s a win-win for us and our employees.”
Back in 2007, serial Omaha entrepreneur Gordon Whitten founded Sojern with the idea of placing targeted destination advertising on print-at-home airline boarding passes. Whitten quickly patented the concept and built a successful business, but the company really took off when major travel clients began asking for ways to help expand their campaigns into digital. When Sojern connected its targeted traveler audiences to the burgeoning universe of programmatic digital advertising, it set off on a new path to become the highly-successful company it is today—one that’s been consecutively profitable since 2015.
Sojern now employs 500 travel tech experts spread across 13 locations around the world stretching from London to Dubai to Singapore and beyond. Sojern was recognized as a Deloitte Top 500 Fastest Growing Technology Company for the past 5 years in a row, and was named a 2018 Best Place to Work in a survey presented by the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, in 2017 Sojern was recognized in as a “Best Place to Work” by AdAge and won a “Top Company Culture” award from Entrepreneur magazine.
“Greater Omaha is a No. 1 up-and-coming-tech hotspot, a region alive with innovation and expansion—attributes to which Sojern is no stranger. We congratulate the entire Sojern team on their growth, not only in our region, but worldwide,” said David G. Brown, President and CEO, Greater Omaha Chamber.
