Blue Water + MissionSide, a full-lifecycle customer experience agency headquartered in Washington, D.C., is proud to have been selected by Alaska Public Lands Information Centers (APLIC) for its Drupal 7 to 9 upgrade. As the nation’s one-stop resource and guide to experiencing Alaska’s public lands, APLIC today administers 10 National Parks and Preserves, 2 National Monuments, 9 National Wildlife Refuges, 2 National Conservation Areas, 25 wild and scenic rivers, and over 400,000 miles of waterways and shoreline, resulting in an ongoing need for a robust digital presence.

Made possible by the Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act of 1980, APLIC requires its primary web presence (alaskacenters.gov) be upgraded from the single-architecture, cloud-hosted Drupal 7 solution, to DOI’s instance of Drupal 8 & 9. The project includes the migration and development of the http://www.alaskacenters.gov website, utilization of existing content, site analysis, and source access to allow for continued future development, maintenance, and support.

“Blue Water + MissionSide is proud to partner with APLIC to further modernize its digital presence and support its mission to protect our country’s public lands,” says Director of Account Management, Rebecca Rodrigues, “We are also very excited about growing our relationship with DOI’s Directorates and Offices, since we already work with the Bureau of Land Management and the National Park Service.”

As an established leader in the field of Drupal and Drupal upgrades, Blue Water + MissionSide is fully positioned to take APLIC’s Content Management System (CMS) to the next level. Drupal 9.0 was released in June of 2020 and from now until November 2021, Drupal 7 and 8 owners are required to begin the incremental upgrade to 9.
