Salesforce is the pioneer company in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) forum which helps the brands to connect with their target customers innovatively. The company uses cloud computing to help its business partners to amplify their trade and dealings. It has its headquarters in San Francisco and other principal offices in major cities of Europe and Asia.
Salesforce is currently listed on New York Stock Exchange and trades under the ticker symbol “CRM.” Though the majority of the revenue of this company is delivered from the customer relationship management system, recently, Salesforce has also diversified into social networking by the annexation of other companies and internal development of products. In 2018, Salesforce secured pioneer rank in Fortune’s “100 Best Companies to Work For.”
Establishment of Salesforce
In 1999, industry veteran and former Oracle executive Marc Benioff, Dave Moellenhoff, Parker Harris, and Frank Dominguez established the company Salesforce. In the initial days, the company performed as software as a service (SaaS) platform and helped the clients with sales automation software.
In 2004, Salesforce was first listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the category CRM, and in the first year, it was able to raise US$110 million from the investors. The potential early investors of the company include Larry Ellison, Stewart Henderson and Magdalena Yesil. In 2014, the company launched Customer Success Platform to add more customers to the group. In 2017, Salesforce devised Facebook Analytics tool for B2B marketers. This was the story of Salesforce in short.
