The OneTrust Targeted Data Discovery tool helps companies comply with the GDPR and other global privacy laws. The tool provides a generic framework for customers to integrate their key business applications, constantly update information relevant to their specific privacy use case, and incorporate that information into OneTrust. The tool helps companies understand both what data they are collecting and if that data changes, as well as automate specific data subject information retrieval. Customers can build event-based triggers into their OneTrust modules, such as OneTrust Data Mapping or OneTrust Data Subject Requests, to automatically pull the information needed to maintain or process these workflows. This process can occur manually or on a scheduled basis through an API feed. Customers can also build custom integrations with internal applications in addition to those that are in the marketplace.

In addition to OneTrust’s Targeted Data Discovery technology, OneTrust also launched an enterprise data discovery integration marketplace for organisations to use their broader data discovery tools within OneTrust, further automating privacy management activities.

“Data discovery can be complex, hard to maintain and at times provide information that isn’t relevant to specific privacy use cases,” said Blake Brannon, VP Product, OneTrust. “The OneTrust Targeted Data Discovery Tool helps solve these issues and gives our customers a flexible framework to integrate the relevant data into the platform and set workflows to automate data mapping and subject access requests. We’re proud to continue to build on the world’s leading dedicated privacy management technology and provide our customers a robust and intelligent platform to help solve the complexities of GDPR and other global privacy regulations.”

OneTrust Targeted Data Discovery will be available in Q4 2018.
